I purchases an I-phone 6s plus for my grandson for Christmas. I bought it 11/21/16. Since I was not going to use their service, I specifically ask if I could use it with my provider. Also, if it was brand new. The week before Christmas I took it to my provider to get it activated before I wrapped it to put under the tree. As I opened the box, I found the lens laying in the little hole in the box. Since it hadn’t been used I took it back to metro pc store near me . They informed me that I had to take it back to where I purchased it. Mind you the I-phone 7’s were out already but, I had paid $615. for it. I thought it would be easy since I had the bill of sale and it hadn’t even been activated. Wrong again! I spoke with the same young man that had sold it to me. He had to call his manager and his manager had to call his supervisor etc. I was adamant that I was not taking a defective phone home. I finally made the guy realize that a new phone should not fall apart when you open the box. I did leave with what I thought was another brand new I-phone 6s plus. I go straight to my cell phone provider, activate it with a new sim card and take it home and wrap it. Christmas morning comes and grandson is thrilled to have the I-phone 6s even though he wanted an IPhone 7. After using it for week and 1/2 the lens of this one falls off. I was not going back to metro pc. A week later, the phone shut off and nothing would make it come back on. took battery out, charged it in three different locations to be sure it wasn’t the plug or receptacle. I decided for $615. that brand new phone should have lasted a lot longer than my cheapie android that I have used for 2 years now. I decided to go directly to the Apple store for service. I figured at least they could tell me what to do. I stood in line at Apple in the Willowbrook Mall for 40 minutes to find out the wait to fix was 3-4 hours. I couldn’t pick up kids at school and be there at same time so I went back at 9:30 the next day so I could be one of the first in line for repairs. My turn came and the apple employee looked up the serial number. My new phone had been sold in Dec. of 2014 and had already been replaced so it was not eligible for repairs. Can you imagine my shock! Two visits to Metro Pc and they were still claiming the phone was new! I ask the man from apple to print out the info he had shown me. I went straight to Metro PC. I told the employee that I was very upset that they misrepresented themselves by telling me not once but twice that the phone was new. Of course he had no phones he could trade me. Also, he couldn’t keep my phone and send it off for repairs until Sunday. I will return bright and early on Sunday and let them send for repairs. I am totally baffled that they can get away with this. I work hard for my money and I assure you none of those employees would settle for a defective phone once but, I had to twice. I will let you know how this turns out but, rest assure that I will be taking the phone back as long as it is defective until I get one that is worth the $615. what we do for out grandchildren. I would have given him an android and believe me this is the last apple I plan on buying.
