The Metro PCS APN settings or Access Point Name settings are the set of configurations that allows a device to connect to a network for data and multimedia messaging capability. The Metro PCS Network settings are usually automatically configured, and do not need to be changed. However, there are times when the APN settings need to be reconfigured, or added. Especially, when a device from an0ther carrier is connected to Metro PCS. How to add Metro PCS APN Settings on an iPhone (iOS 6 or later)
- Turn WiFi “OFF” and 3G/4G “ON” and Data Roaming “ON” while the settings are being applied.
- Go to “Settings”, tap on WiFi and temporarily turn it OFF
- Back in “Settings”, scroll down to “Messages” and tap to open it. Make sure MMS is OFF
- Go back to “Settings”, tap on “General” and then “Cellular”. Make sure “Enable 3G” is ON & “Data Roaming” is ON.
- Scroll down & tap on “Cellular Data Network”
- Under “Cellular Data Network” put in the following:
- Cellular Data APN: fast.t-mobile.com
- MMS APN: fast.t-mobile.com
- MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

- Click on the Home button to go back to the main phone screen
- Go back to “Settings” one more time, scroll down and tap on “Messages” and turn it ON
- Press the Home button and you’re set to send & receive MMS on Metro PCS!
- Once you have set it up and tested to see it works, you can re-enable WiFi, turn off Data Roaming and turn on 3G (or leave it off if you’re not in a 3G area for AT&T devices on our network).

When a phone from another carrier is brought to Metro PCS, the correct Network settings need to be added to the phone in order for the phone to have internet and picture messaging capability.
